NextNotes Privacy Policy

Effective 12 July 2026 · Applies to NextNotes for Mac and iOS

The short version: NextNotes collects nothing. Your notes live on your own Nextcloud server and on your device. The app has no accounts of ours, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. It talks to the server you configure and nowhere else.

What data the app handles

What we collect

Nothing. NextNotes contains no analytics or telemetry libraries, sets no identifiers, and makes no network connections other than to the Nextcloud server you configure. We cannot see your notes, your server address, or even whether you use the app.

Crash reports

We do not collect crash reports ourselves. If you have opted in to sharing analytics with Apple, Apple may provide us anonymised crash information under Apple's privacy policy.

Importing from Apple Notes

The optional "Import from Apple Notes" feature reads your Apple Notes only after you approve the standard macOS permission prompt, converts them to Markdown on your device, and saves them to your Nextcloud server. Nothing is sent anywhere else.

Your data, your control

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Because the app collects nothing, changes are expected to be rare.
