In short: Symptom Tracker does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Everything stays on your device.

Overview

Symptom Tracker is a symptom tracking app designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your health data is deeply personal and should remain entirely under your control.

Data Collection

Symptom Tracker does not collect any personal data. Specifically:

We do not require an account or sign-up
We do not collect your name, email, or any identifying information
We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party SDKs
We do not serve advertisements
We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies

Data Storage

All symptom data you log in Symptom Tracker is stored exclusively in Apple Health (HealthKit) on your device. Symptom Tracker does not have its own servers, databases, or cloud storage. Your data never leaves your device through Symptom Tracker.

Symptom entries are saved as HealthKit category samples
Data is protected by your device's encryption and passcode
You can view and delete your data at any time through the Apple Health app
If you delete Symptom Tracker, your health data remains in Apple Health

Apple Health (HealthKit)

Symptom Tracker requests permission to read and write symptom data to Apple Health. This integration is used solely to:

Save your symptom check-ins
Read your past entries to display your history
Enable the Apple Watch companion app to log symptoms

Apple Health data is encrypted on your device and governed by Apple's privacy policies. Symptom Tracker cannot access your HealthKit data without your explicit permission, and you can revoke access at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access.

Data Sharing

Symptom Tracker does not share your data with anyone. The export feature (PDF and CSV) is entirely local — files are generated on your device and shared only when you explicitly choose to do so using the iOS share sheet.

Apple Watch

The Symptom Tracker Apple Watch companion app uses the same HealthKit storage as the iPhone app. No data is transmitted between devices through Symptom Tracker — both apps read and write directly to HealthKit, which handles synchronisation securely through iCloud (if you have HealthKit sync enabled).

Third-Party Services

Symptom Tracker does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, crash reporters, or advertising networks. The app contains no third-party code beyond Apple's standard frameworks.

Children's Privacy

Symptom Tracker does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app collects no personal data whatsoever, there are no special provisions required.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version here with an updated date. Since Symptom Tracker collects no data, significant changes to this policy are unlikely.
