Overview

DoseDiary is a personal medication diary designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your health data is deeply personal and should remain entirely under your control. We have no servers, no accounts, and no way to see what you log.

Data Collection

DoseDiary does not collect any personal data. Specifically:

• We do not require an account or sign-up
• We do not collect your name, email, or any identifying information
• We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, crash reporters, or third-party SDKs
• We do not serve advertisements
• We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies

Data Storage

The medications, doses, check-in scores, blood glucose readings, and bowel-movement entries you log are stored on your device. DoseDiary has no servers, databases, or cloud storage of its own, and your data is never sent to us.

• Your data is protected by your device's encryption and passcode
• If you have iCloud enabled, your data syncs across your own Apple devices through your private iCloud (CloudKit) database. This is managed entirely by Apple, encrypted, and accessible only to you — we have no access to it.
• If you are not signed in to iCloud, DoseDiary simply stores your data locally on that device
• You can delete any entry, or all your data, at any time from within the app

Apple Health (HealthKit)

With your permission, DoseDiary can read blood glucose readings from Apple Health so you can view them alongside your medication log. This access is used solely to display those readings inside the app.

• DoseDiary only ever reads blood glucose data — it never writes any data to Apple Health
• Apple Health data is encrypted on your device and governed by Apple's privacy policies
• DoseDiary cannot access your HealthKit data without your explicit permission, and you can revoke access at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access

Camera

DoseDiary can use your device's camera to scan a medication label when you add a new medication. Scanning happens entirely on your device — the camera image is used only to read the text on the label and is not stored, saved, or transmitted anywhere.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, DoseDiary schedules local notifications on your device to remind you to take your doses. These notifications are generated on-device and are not sent through any external service.

Apple Watch & Widgets

The DoseDiary Apple Watch companion app and the Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets display your medication schedule and let you check off doses. They share data with the iPhone app on your own devices using Apple's on-device frameworks (Watch Connectivity and App Groups). No data is transmitted to us or to any third party.

Data Sharing

DoseDiary does not share your data with anyone. The report feature (PDF and CSV) is entirely local — files are generated on your device and are shared only when you explicitly choose to do so, for example by emailing a report to your doctor using the iOS share sheet.

Third-Party Services

DoseDiary does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, crash reporters, or advertising networks. The app contains no third-party code beyond Apple's standard frameworks.

DoseDiary is a personal record-keeping tool and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always follow the instructions of your healthcare provider. DoseDiary is not a substitute for professional medical care.

Children's Privacy

DoseDiary does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app collects no personal data whatsoever, there are no special provisions required.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version here with an updated date. Since DoseDiary collects no data, significant changes to this policy are unlikely.
